For your convenience, there is a number next to each thumbnail showing
how large the full-size image is in kilobytes.
I did not take any of these pictures (they are all from years and
years before I started going to shows) and I really don't know much of
anything about them, to be honest. I won the entire set as paper
prints from someone on Ebay, and they were delivered with no
identifying information about exactly when, where, or by whom they
were taken. If you can shed some light on the matter, then please
don't hesitate to send
me an email. These are such terrific shots that I felt it was a
shame not to go ahead and share them as-is, especially now that ANY
kind of pictures or other material from Jimi's career are only going
to become rarer and more precious to his fans as time goes on. I also
know just how tricky it can be to get good pics at concerts, though
(and even more so in the days before digital cameras!) so I'd really
love to be able to credit the talented photographer or photographers
who are responsible for them by name, too. (My tag on the scans is, as
always, merely to denote that I was the one who went to the time and
trouble to convert them from hardcopy to digital and upload them to
the web for other fans to enjoy; it is not a mark of ownership or
copyright in any way.)
Set 1 - Survivor, circa 1985
There are a couple of photos from this same concert already in my main
Jimi Gallery here at C&S--they
were some of the first pics I ever put up of Himself, in fact. And as
far as comments, I think I will just reiterate what I said about one
of them at the time: Those are some nice
pants he's sporting, and what's in them ain't half bad, either.
Set 2 - Jimi Jamison solo
From Jimi's age in these pics (and his long hair--SIGH
plus the fact that the guitarist who's visible in a couple of shots is
plainly NOT Frank Sullivan, I'm guessing this set must be from the
period when he toured on his own during the early to mid-1990's, after
Survivor had broken up and before Empires
came out. (And I have to say, as much as I love him in leather,
ordinary denim definitely has its good points, too...)
Apparently the fishing for vampires thing isn't just a recent phenomenon...
Set 3 - Miscellaneous Pics
Here are a few other shots I liked, but which weren't numerous enough
to warrant having a separate section for each individual show.
From 1985 or thereabouts
Another mid-80's show (love the v-neck! )
Not sure whether this one is late 80's or early 90's, but hey, pics of him from the days when he was wearing his hair long are all too rare IMO, and additions are always more than welcome!
