This was a short show, only about an hour and a half, so I didn't get a tremendous amount of pics overall, but I think there's some really good ones in the set--hopefully all of you out there reading will agree. And what I said the last time around about getting something stable to rest my camera on really did help. Turns out that a monopod is easier to maneuver in the crowded conditions at a concert than a full-blown tripod, but it's the same sort of idea, and given how much my camera STILL struggled in the dark, I was very glad I'd brought mine with me.
Edited 9-21-10 to add:
And in regards to the mustache, I stand by what I said here to begin
with, namely that he didn't look horrible with it, just different from
what I was used to. (Hey, this is ME we're talking about; it'd take a
whole lot more than a bit of extra facial hair to seriously diminish my
appreciation of the man!
)
I do have to admit, though, that still I prefer him clean-shaven, and
I'm rather glad the "new look" turned out to be a short-lived
experiment, rather than a permanent fixture!
Anyway--the pics:
I quite liked his stage outfit for this show, although I'd swear he's worn that same pair of pants the last three times I've seen him perform.

I think this just might be my favorite shot from this show... sigh...

I swear I'm going to start referring to this as his "fishing for vampires" pose

I think y'all are quite aware by now that I think Jimi is an exceptionally handsome fellow from the front, but I daresay this shot proves the rear view is just as pleasant as ever, too.

This pic (and the preceding two) were from the encore... everyone left the stage for a couple of minutes after the main set and when they came back, Jimi had donned this jersey from the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. (And yes, I had to look that up; I'm utterly clueless when it comes to sports.

Jerry again, just because I happened to get another really good shot of him

The entire lineup, about to take a bow at the end of the show. (Apologies to those in the foreground who ended up blurred.) From left to right: Barry Dunaway, Hal Butler, Jim Peterik, Jimi Jamison, Kevin Chalfant, Pete Mendillo, Jerry Riggs.

I have to say, it really did my heart good to see Jimi and Jim Peterik on stage together at last. It was a long hard road for the two of them to get back to working together again at all, but I'm so glad they did. Crossroads Moment is just pure magic, a masterpiece in the truest sense of the word--and I'm quite looking forward to seeing what project they collaborate on next, too. (Hint hint, guys.

Jimi and Kevin Chalfant in one of the VERY few even halfway decent shots I got of the latter--that light-colored outfit he had on made just about every pic I took of him come out overexposed.
